وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
اے محمدؐ، ہم نے جو تم کو بھیجا ہے تو یہ دراصل دنیا والوں کے حق میں ہماری رحمت ہے
We sent thee not, but as a Mercy for all creatures[Quran;21:106]
إِنَّ اللَّـهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا
اللہ اور اس کے ملائکہ نبیؐ پر درود بھیجتے ہیں، اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، تم بھی ان پر درود و سلام بھیجو
"Verily, God and His angels bless the Prophet: [hence,] O you who have attained to faith, bless him and give yourselves up [to his guidance] in utter self-surrender!" [Qura'n;33:56]

















Allah's Messenger was the kindest of men in the same way as he excelled all others in courage and valour. Being extremely kind-hearted, his eyes brimmed with tears at the slightest sign of inhumanity. A Companion, Shaddaad bin 'Awsreported the Apostle as saying: "Allah has commanded you to show kindness to everyone, so if you have to kill, kill in a good manner, and if you slaughter an animal, slaughter it gently. If anyone of you has to slay an animal, he should sharpen the blade first and treat the animal well." Ibn 'Abbas relates that a man threw a goat on its side and then started sharpening his knife. When the Prophetsaw him he said: "Do you want to kill it twice? Why did you not sharpen the knife before throwing it on the ground?"
A Mercy for the Believers
The Messenger’s compassion towards the believers was of the utmost degree. The Quran describes his compassion in the following verse, which means: “There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you [i.e., your guidance] and to the believers is kind and merciful.” (Quran: 9:128)
Sa‘d bin ‘Ubaadah once became ill, so Allah's Messenger visited him in his house. On seeing his faithful Companion in a pitiful state, he was moved to tears. Then, he said: “Allah does not punish because of tears, nor because of grief, but he punishes because of this."- and he pointed to his tongue. (Al-Bukhari)
A Mercy Towards his Enemies
The prisoners of war taken captive at the battle of Badr were amongst his bitterest enemies. Nevertheless, he made sure that they were given the best of treatment. Among them was Suhayl bin 'Amr who was a fiery speaker and was denouncing the Prophet . 'Umar one the Prophet’s closest companions, suggested that two of his lower teeth be pulled out so that he might not be so vile in his speeches. The Prophet replied: “Were I to do this, Allah would disfigure me on the Day of Judgement, despite the fact that I am His messenger.” (Hadith)
In Makkah, his people inflicted him with every kind of suffering, eventually forcing him to emigrate to Madinah, and then waged war on him for five years. However, when he conquered Makkah without bloodshed in the twenty-first year of his Prophethood, he asked the Makkan unbelievers who were awaiting his decision about them: “How do you expect me to treat you?” They responded unanimously: "You are a noble one, the son of a noble one." He announced to them his decision:
“You may go free! No reproach this day shall be on you; may God forgive you.”
A Mercy for Women
Prophet Muhammad was also very kind and affectionate towards women. Women were very badly treated in those times. The Noble Prophet gave them honour and dignity at par with men in the community. 'Umar reported: "We did not have much regard for women while we were at Makkah, but they were better treated in Madinah. Allah's Messenger established women's rights through his sayings and commandments, which improved their position and status."
A Mercy for Children
Allah's Messenger was particularly compassionate towards children. When he saw a child crying, he sat beside him or her and shared his or her feelings. He felt the pain of a mother for her child more than the mother herself. Once he said: “I stand in prayer and wish to prolong it. However, I hear the cry of a child and cut the prayer short for the anxiety which the mother is feeling.” (Al-Bukhari)
He would take children in his arms and embrace them. He was once hugging his beloved grandsons, Hasan and Hussain, when Aqrah bin Haabis told him, ‘I have got ten children. So far, I have not kissed any of them.’ Allah’s Messengerresponded: “The one with no pity for others is not pitied.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
According to another version, he said: “What can I do for you if Allah has removed from you the feeling of compassion?” (At-Tirmidhi)

A Mercy for Slaves
The Prophet strongly enjoined the duty of kind and generous treatment upon slaves, servants and labourers engaged in manual work. Jaabir related the Apostle of Allah as saying: "Feed them with the food which you eat, clothe them with such clothing as you wear, and do not cause trouble to Allah's creatures." The Apostle is further stated to have said: "Those whom Allah has made your dependents are your brothers, servants and helpmates. Anybody whose brother has been made subservient to him ought to feed him with the food he eats and clothe him with the clothes he wears; command him not to do that which he is unable to do and if it becomes necessary to do so then he should help him in doing the job."
A Mercy for Animals
His compassion encompassed not only human beings, but also animals.
The Prophet forbade his companions to keep the unintelligent creatures hungry or thirsty, to disturb or to overburden them. He commended that kindness and putting them at ease were meritorious acts tending to bring man nearer to Allah. Abu Hurairah reports the Prophet as saying: "A traveler who was thirsty saw a well in the way. He got inside the well and when he came out he saw a dog licking mud due to thirst. The man realised that the dog was as thirsty as him, so he got into the well again, filled his leather sock with water and carried it out holding it with his teeth. Thus, he quenched the thirst of the dog. Allah was pleased with this act of kindness and pardoned his sins." The Companions asked: "O Messenger of Allah is there recompense in the matter of beasts and wild animals also?" The Prophet replied: "There is recompense in regard to every creature that has a living heart."
'Abdullah bin 'Umar related that the Prophet said: "A woman was cast away to hell only because she had withheld food and water from her cat and refused to set it free so that the cat might satisfy its hunger by eating worms and insects."
Once on return from a military campaign, a few Companions took away the chicks of a bird from their nest to stroke them. The mother bird came back and when it could not find its chicks in the nest, it began to fly around screeching. When informed of the matter, Allah’s Messenger became angry and ordered the chicks to be put back in the nest. (Abu Dawood)

Conclusion
The love and compassion of Allah’s Messenger for all kinds of creatures was not of the kind claimed by today’s ‘humanists’. He was sincere and balanced in his love and compassion. He was more compassionate than any other person. He was a Prophet raised by Allah, the Creator and Sustainer of all beings, for the guidance and happiness of conscious beings - mankind and jinn - and the harmony of existence. Therefore, he lived not for himself but for others; he is a mercy for all the worlds.

On the pretext of freedom of speech USA and West allows the extremists to insult Islam, Quran and Prophet Muhammad [pbuh]. They are well aware that this will hurt the feelings of 1.5 billion Muslims, the world over who can not bear any non sense on the pretext of freedom of speech. On the other side In order to please just 13.3 million Jews Holocaust denial is explicitly or implicitly illegal in 17 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Switzerland.



Why can't they care for sentiments of 1.5 billion Muslims? Freedom of speech in the United States is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution is not absolute; the Supreme Court of the United States has recognized several categories of speech that are excluded from the freedom of speech, and it has recognized that governments may enact reasonable time, place, or manner restrictions on speech. There are exceptions to these general protections, including the Miller test for obscenity, child pornography laws, speech that incites imminent lawless action, protection from imminent or potential violence against particular persons (restrictions on fighting words), or the use of untruths to harm others (slander). US ambassador and 3 people have died in Libyan protest, many more Muslims will die in the protests by police trying to control protesters in Muslim countries. [remember Danish caricature controversy, Salmon Rushdi's blasphemous book]. 

One is inclined to conclude that such actions are preplanned to create hatred and violence, help the religious extremists for strong justification for violence. 
The European Union's Framework decision on Racism and Xenophobia states that denying or grossly trivializing "crimes of genocide" should be made "punishable in all EU Member States". Slovakia criminalized denial of fascist crimes in general in late 2001; in May 2005, the term "Holocaust" was explicitly adopted by the penal code and in 2009, it became illegal to deny any act regarded by an international criminal court as genocide. The Parliament of Hungary adopted the most recent legislation, which declared denial or trivialization of the Holocaust a crime punishable by up to three years imprisonment, in February 2010.
A number of deniers have been prosecuted under various countries' denial laws. French literature professor Robert Faurisson, for example, was convicted and punished under the Gayssot Act in 1990. Some historians oppose such laws, among them Vidal-Naquet, an outspoken critic of Faurisson, on the grounds that denial legislation imposes "historical truth as legal truth." Other academics favor criminalization. Holocaust denial, they contend, is "the worst form of racism and its most respectable version because it pretends to be a research." In the Belgian Senate the Minister of Justice Laurette Onkelinx compared laws criminalizing Holocaust denial with those condemning incitement to ethnic or racial hatred in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
What should be done?
  • This appears to conspiracy to destabilise the newly established Islamic governments in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt etc and provided pretext for US /Western interference. Muslims should exercise restraints, protests should remain non violent, the extremists should not be allowed to exploit the situation in their favour. US has made ingress to these extremists, they are manipulated to act as US tool unwittingly acting as fools.  
  • The Muslim governments should launch official protests to US government and UNO, the OIC should be activated to play its role. They will not do it because most of them are US puppets, so only peaceful protests will force them.
  • Muslims demand from UN,  USA & West to make laws to respect the sentiments of 1.5 billion Muslims, as done for Jews on Holocaust Denial  & Antisemitism. 
  • If the US/West does not change their hostile attitude towards Muslims, then in the long term Muslims should consider use of economic power to pressurise USA and West i.e. boycott of some products/ restrict trade, use of alternate means instead of US $ in trade. Gradual withdrawal of money from US/Western banks. This cannot be expected from present rulers which should be gradually replaced through peaceful democratic protests / process.

  • "LET NOT the believers take those who deny the truth for their allies in preference to the believers - since he who does this cuts himself off from God in everything - unless it be to protect yourselves against them in this way. But God warns you to beware of Him: for with God is all journeys' end.[Quran;3:28] 
  • [But] it may well be that God will bring about [mutual] affection between you [O believers] and some of those whom you [now] face as enemies: for, God is all-powerful - and God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace. As for such [of the unbelievers] as do not fight against you on account of [your] faith, and neither drive you forth from your homelands, God does not forbid you to show them kindness and to behave towards them with full equity: for, verily, God loves those who act equitably. God only forbids you to turn in friendship towards such as fight against you because of [your] faith, and drive you forth from your homelands, or aid [others] in driving you forth: and as for those [from among you] who turn towards them in friendship; it is they, they who are truly wrongdoers! [Quran;60:7-8]

    GUJARAT VERDICT AND COMMUNAL AMD TARGETTED VIOLENCE BILL


    The recent verdict by the Gujrat court on the case of Naroda Patia is, to say the least, revolutionary, in its content. This verdict has brought a new confidence in the minds of victims and activists about judiciary in secular India. The Judge Jyotsna Yagnik has enhanced the prestige of judiciary especially through her observation that communal riots are like poison in secular India. One rarely hears such a remark in written judgements these days.

    It must be admitted that it is after a long time and almost for the first time in independent India that such severe punishments have been meted out to the perpetrators of the communal violence. Both Dr. Kodnani who subsequently went on to become minister of women and child development ironically after killing 35 women and 30 children brutally and Babu Bajrangi –both were confident that they would be fully protected by their boss and that no one will touch them.  Babu Bajrangi had boasted of this in a sting operation carried out by Tehelka on the eve of last Assembly elections.

    But howsoever powerful a person he/she cannot control everything and despite such assurances these perpetrators of brutal violence could not escape the long hands of law.  In most of the riots before the perpetrators could escape for various reasons like partial and incomplete or careless investigations by the police under pressure from political bosses and their own communal biases that these perpetrators of violence easily escaped.

    Not that Narnedra Modi allowed honest and careful investigations for catching up with the criminals but because communal violence in Gujrat had reached such tremendous proportions that whole world was watching what was going on in Gujrat and activists like Teesta Setalvad, Advocate Sinha and several other human rights activists that it became very difficult for these accused to escape the stranglehold of the law of land Actually the Gujrat police had closed more than 300 cases saying no evidence was available. It was Supreme Court that ordered these cases to be re-opened. And the Best Bakery case and Bilqis Bano case had to be tried outside Gujrat to get justice to these victims.

    Also we must salute, as Teesta  Setalvad said, the women from Naroda Paria who had seen all the killings who showed rare courage and stood form to give evidence despite threats to their lives and also allurement of money as reporte4dly Rs. Two crores were offered to them to change their statement. We must inde3ed salute these brave women.

    Again recently what happened in Assam between bodos and Muslims and the terror it spread in the country shows how vulnerable is our country to communal violence. The communal forces can set this country on fire any time they like. Also the way these forces set rumors afloat against innocent people of North East working in different parts of India was very scary. These north easterners were so scary that they took the first train available to go home. Assam violence was like Gujrat violence. Only difference was of scale. In brutalities it was like another Gujrat.

    It was after Gujrat riots that Congress had promised people of India in its manifesto for 2004 election to bring a law on communal and targeted violence. It also drafted one but it was so weak that it was worse than the remedy. We protested against it, held many consultations and forced the Government to redraft it. Sonia Gandhi took up the matter and set up a sub-committee to her advisory committee to suggest a new draft. Thus a new draft which was much more effective was prepared and given to the government. However, the BJP and some of its allied attacked it so severely that Government simply abandoned it.

    Had that Bill been adopted I am sure Assam would not have repeated. Many more riots would take place if an effective laws is not made and implemented. The provisions of the Bill are such that it would be difficult for perpetrators of violence to escape the law. Also it holds those who fail to maintain law and order responsible and in case, they cannot maintain peace will be punished. And above all there is fair provision for reparations and relief. Today in Assams more than 4 lakh refugees are rotting in relief camps and do not know what will happen to them and their families.

    The communal and targeted violence Bill provides for all that. Government has totally neglected this Bill. Well, it can be slightly amended to make it acceptable by all though there is nothing that really makes this Bill objectionable. However, the word community could be replaced by group to take care of sensibilities of parties like BJP. This Bill is highly needed to prevent future Gujrats and Assams.
