The Neocon factor

THE US involvement with the disastrous Iraqi war ended four months ago; it cost it in excess of 4,500 dead, 30,000 wounded, and more than a trillion dollars. The invasion launched in March 2003 was a conflict of choice, since no compelling rationale existed to justify it. Yet, at the time it was vigorously promoted with a well-orchestrated campaign, conducted through mass media, and argued by a coalition of zealous politicians known as neoconservatives. Supporters of the invasion were generally sympathisers of Israel, and believed that Saddam Hussein was a peril to the Jewish state and inimical to the US interests. As it turned out, the Iraqi ruler was far more concerned about a threat from Iran, and his bedraggled army presented no real danger to Israel, let alone the US, his frequent empty blusters against the Jewish state notwithstanding. In the months preceding the invasion, the perception was generated that Saddam Hussein was involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, had

Islam Thriving in Austria

“When I stepped to Islam I had the personal impression that it isn’t something like a big change to me but more like a step forward,” Baghajati said. VIENNA – Official figures is showing a dramatic growth in conversions from Christianity to Islam in Austria, contradicting with an increasing discrimination against the religious minority in … Continue reading  »

Delusional Milestone

Romans 10:1-3   Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good."[Psalms 122:6-9 ] The Zionists calling themselves Christians but rejecting the sayings of Jesus Christ  should rethink about themselves: "Then Jesus answered and said: O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me."[ Mt ;17:16 ] “Jesus said to him: Thou sha

The complexity of Muslim culture and society & the West

In recent years, there has been a continuing tendency in the West, to regard Muslims as “the alien Other” and to slot them into convenient stereotypes. British Muslim Fictions: Interviews with Contemporary Writers by Claire Chambers, the British academic, sets out to portray the complexity of Muslim culture through a collection of interviews of 13 writers of English language fiction living in Britain whose works reflect “a Muslim civilisational heritage”. Chambers begins with the Lahore-born Tariq Ali, a writer whose life and work has been informed by Marxism but he has also written a quintet of historical novels, about the encounter between Islam and the West across the centuries, from the syncretic Euro-Arab culture of Andalusia and Sicily, to contemporary Pakistan. Ali, an incisive and out-spoken political analyst, addresses a diversity of other topics too in his interview, such as Cold War politics, Islamophobia and civil liberties. He says: “The more I read about the histor

West at war with Islam

Sweden, once regarded as one of Europe’s most liberal and radical societies, has now become a dangerous place for the Muslims. Islam is regarded as the most unwelcome religion for a number of Swedish people. The far-right Sweden Democrats party has its roots in the neo-Nazi movement. It has warned “ the dangers of Islamization” and has a controversial campaign against the Muslims in Sweden. Sweden is no more a bastion of religious freedom and tolerance. The shooting and killing of a Muslim at the largest mosque in Sweden has raised a new debate on the activities of certain militant Christian groups. The objective of certain Christian militants seems to “shoot at Muslim immigrants.” Anti-immigration party, highly influenced from skinhead movement, has upset the balance of power in Sweden. The gains of right wing parties in Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland are signals of danger for the Muslims in these part

The Zionist Cuckoos in Christianity's Nest

© n/a Stuart Littlewood views the ideology of Christian Zionism, which is rampant in the United States and has made some inroads in other "Christian" societies, and argues that, in essence, Christian Zionism is "a gross corruption of the biblical message". "The question is, are we seriously to believe that an all-powerful supernatural being has chosen and elevated one group of humans to a position of supremacy above all others, and has approved the use of any mean, including murder, brutal eviction and even war, to achieve their selfish goal, and now mobilizes millions of lesser mortals from around the globe, like those who regard themselves as upstanding Christians, to serve as tools and sing the praises of this "Grand Design"?" (Stuart Littlewood) If you are as puzzled as I am as to how a true Christian could possibly be taken in by Zionism, a short paper on the ph
